About the project

Carrefour devised the hypermarket concept in 1963, opening its first one in Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois. The largest Carrefour store, created in 1972, is situated near Villiers-en-Bière and has a shop floor that spans 25,000 m². Carrefour is the world’s second largest supermarket chain and has stores throughout the world. Carrefour has three types of supermarket in Belgium: Its hypermarkets have pretty much anything a customer could want and there is the widest selection of food and non-food products. Carrefour market is always local and is ideal for day-to-day shopping. In addition, each store has a local range adapted to customers’ regional wishes. Carrefour express is open from early in the morning until late in the evening, including on public holidays.

“IMARCO worked quickly and efficiently, meaning the tiling took just two days to install”

2,270 m2 of tiles were laid in just two days

IMARCO lays up to more than 1,000 m2 of tiled floor a day

Supermarket chain Carrefour enlists IMARCO if tiling needs done. No less than 2,270 m2 of tiling was done at Carrefour Alma in Saint-Nicolas, with the required turnaround time for the entire remodelling taking 3 days less than the market average. The supermarket only had to close for two days.

Adhesive was applied over existing flooring. Carrefour Alma in Saint-Nicolas only had to be closed to the shopping public for a short time to enable IMARCO to get the job done. The fact that IMARCO is capable of laying in excess of 1,000 m2 a day meant that Carrefour Alma only had to shut for a short time.
